The Senior Manager, Procurement Operations will directly lead a group of materials professionals to execute the strategy of procurement through a cascade of activities to include releasing orders, managing lead time to scheduled needs, ensuring delivery of materials to production facilities, and ensuring fill rates based on service level agreement with the producing sites. Senior Manager will partner with the site leaders as internal customers and will interact with suppliers, transportation services, and other procurement team members with plans, feedback information, and modifications needed for any part of the procurement system. Position is remote with responsibilities for a portion of the manufacturing and milling facilities.Essential Job Duties:
- Lead a portion of the Alphia materials organization that release orders based on contract per the aligned schedule
- Advocate optimization strategies to align across locations, team members, and buying groups of materials
- Provide leadership to procurement operational functions to drive productivity with a focus on efficiencies, cost, people capability building and waste elimination opportunities.
- Support and lead business process execution of initiatives to drive procurements incremental cost commitments and further build a culture of executional excellence.
- Develop and lead routines to drive the measurement of cycle time, lead time and order fulfillment
- Drive continuous improvement into the culture by educating and coaching the materials teams on Lean concepts to develop their capabilities in engagement, facilitation, planning, execution and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with materials teams to improve fill rates and cost avoidance/savings through root cause analysis methods.
- Collaborate with other functions as necessary to solve supply chain issues.
- Ensure governance for procurement measurement policies.
- Influence plant leadership teams and scheduling of the most optimal methods and actions to resolve issues.
- Provide data analysis regarding line performance and trends for manufacturing and maintenance.
- Responsible for leading and motivating procurement team members
- Training and standardizing team members, align across all pillars of procurement on the standard methods to train against
- Adhere to and provide input into sourcing, supplier selection, and negotiation process.
- Develop and implement ideas to model and optimize Total Cost of Ownership.
- Help identify areas of overlapping sourcing and drive to solutions across organizational groups.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met and shepherd contracts through execution.
Qualifications:
- Education: College level completion preferred. Bachelor's or better in Procurement or related field
- Experience: 7-10 years of Procurement or Manufacturing experience
- Experience leading large multi-site food procurement operations.
