Senior Manager – Product Development

- The Digital Product Manager will play a critical role in the implementation and execution of Marsh's largest and most impactful transformation to date. You will successfully deliver Marsh's most significant, large scale, complex programs against the global strategic transformation and change agenda.
- Serving within Operations & Technology, you will be part of the Placement & Policy Management (PPM) program and its related priorities.

We will count on you to:
- Provide Module Ownership of PPM to lead the product roadmap and component strategy.
- Lead product discovery exercises focused on crystallizing the end-user needs and curating demand in your digital product domain.
- Develop and maintain a detailed and robust product roadmap including resources, scope, schedule, cost, assumptions, dependencies, etc.
- Manage the conversion of high-level business requirements and use-cases into detailed functional specifications and user-stories.
- Understand market factors, strategic opportunities, and executive priorities informing a digital product strategy and vision for digital products or services.
- Manage regional digital products and services end-to-end including conception, launch, and scale in coordination with your delivery partners. Products and services covered typically involve many years in duration and/or entail highly complex objectives.
- Serve a communication role for stakeholders, sponsors, and leadership both for status as well as to evangelize digital product benefits.
- Build and maintain exceptionally strong relationships with delivery partners including business, IT, operations, support, vendors, and more.
- Optimize the value of the delivery team by prioritizing a backlog of work against end-user needs and business objectives.
- Coordinate with colleagues focused on data standards and governance to ensure product alignment with key data efforts.
- Undertake regular work stream meetings, documenting and following-up on actions and risks identifies from the meetings and escalate where needed, while ensuring remediation action plans are implemented.
- Partner with colleagues in UX and Design to ensure delivered product experiences are easy to use, scalable, and enjoyable.
- Develop comprehensive change management and benefits realization plans to ensure successful delivery of key changes.
- Develop methods for the regional implementation of long-term product goals and objectives for highly complex and regional projects, evaluating regional needs within a global structure.
- Evaluate a digital product or service's progress by setting success criteria, key performance indicators, and other metrics for measuring business impact and objectives.
- Negotiate resource requirements with responsible management when faced with conflicts in priorities.
- Serve as a recognized expert in the product functionality being provided, and the business domain being served.
- Proactively communicate risks, dependencies, and changes to Product roadmap to stakeholders, sponsors, and users.
- Coordinate large size regional projects, including the establishment of plans, milestones, and deliverables in consultation with business stakeholders and external partners.
What you need to have:
- 8-11+ years' experience as a Product Manager within a Digital Products Organization or related competency.
- Experience of working in the Insurance industry (Broking and/or Carrier) either in a business/client facing or operational role.
- Demonstrated competency leading digital products or software solutions to meet business goals, enact organizational change, or realize commercial opportunities.
- Success delivering mid-scale products, programs, and other initiatives on-time and on-budget
- Demonstrated competency in setting and meeting key performance indicators, success criteria, and business impacts.
- Experience with a product that was either commercial in nature or directly related to a business franchise.
- Mastery in the digital products development within an Agile organization/structure.
What makes you stand out
- SAFe® or Comparable Certification a Plus (relevant course topics include but not limited to Agile Product Manager, Lean Portfolio Manager, Product Owner / Product Manager, Agilist).
- Master in stakeholder management with demonstrable successes managing stakeholders at many levels in a dynamic and diverse environment.
- Strong underlying domain experience in at least one relevant area of financial services space that includes but not limited to Insurance, Markets, Risk, Management, Economics.
- Formal instruction (a degree, minor designation, certification, or other course-work) in a relevant aspect of digital technology including software development, computer or systems. engineering, information systems, technology architecture, entrepreneurship, or related.
- Experience with modern digital product management software such as Jira or Azure Dev Ops.
- Experience managing to a formal budget/forecast including working with various portfolio planning software.

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $91,800 to $195,800.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
