Join the V Team Life.What you'll be doing...As a member of the Federal policy team, you would help develop Verizon's policy advocacy strategy on key issues for the company and communicate that strategy to Federal policymakers. In particular, you would play a key role in building our relationships with various Democratic third-party stakeholders and Executive Branch officials.Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with key Executive Branch staff.
- Coordinating outreach with and educating left-of-center, bipartisan, and nonpartisan third-party organizations (including think tanks, trade associations, and stakeholder groups) to advance Verizon's priority policy issues.
- Creating and executing strategies for advancing complex policy frameworks and advocacy plans that address broadband, spectrum, privacy, taxation, and other critical business issues that create a platform for long-term growth for Verizon, our employees, and our shareholders.
- Representing Verizon in national policy forums, business coalitions, community partnerships, and other internal forums.
- Collaborating with team members to maximize Verizon's policy advocacy across the federal government.What we're looking for---You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and / or military experience, or specialized training.
- Experience working at or interacting with government regulatory agencies.
- Experience articulating complex policy issues to diverse audiences.
- Established network of professional relationships with specific line of sight into key Executive Branch agencies and left-of-center stakeholder communities.Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Advanced degree.
- Experience interacting with third-party stakeholders, think tanks, or policy-oriented academics.
