Job Title: Senior Manager, Research Computing Support Services

Job Description:
* As a Senior Manager of Research Computing Support Services, you will lead a team of independent minded computational scientists and students to provide computational services to the research community. These services include providing training, consultation, documentation, support to researchers, and access to high performance computing resources. You will implement IT service management best practices to address Purdue researchers' support requests and delegate appropriately. You will provide direction for the support services related to the NSF funded Anvil project that serves researchers from across the nation. You will develop and manage stakeholders' communication including, assuring appropriate communications and coordination with management, customers, and partners. You will represent the team on advisory, policy, and project committees, including coordination meeting with other NSF ACCESS resource providers. You will manage professional and student staff while providing regular feedback and guiding their professional development.
This position is contingent upon grant funding is set to expire no earlier than September 30, 2027, with the possibility of future extension pending the availability of funds.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience Required:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related business discipline.
* At least four (4) years of experience in progressively responsible roles
* Experience in using or administering services in relations to large-scale, Linux-based high-performance computing (HPC) clusters or configuring software programs and applications in Linux-based computing environments
* Experience in developing effective and collaborative partnerships within and across organizations
* Experience supervising direct reports or strong mentorship experience, including setting expectations, providing guidance, and feedback.
* Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills Needed:
* User knowledge of advanced computational resources and services to support research, such as HPC, data science, data management, and data storage systems
* Knowledge related to research computing training, education, and evaluation
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with faculty, students, colleagues, and leaders
* Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage complex technical projects
* Strong ability to consult with and provide support for researchers, make presentations, develop and present training material, and develop reports
* Ability to:
* promote team relationship skills and communication
* work effectively both individually and as part of a team
