We have built a flexible and diverse work environment where new ideas are encouraged and everyone is a stakeholder.What you'll be responsible for: Circle is looking for a passionate and highly organized Security Leader who is an absolute beast when it comes to responding to incidents across the organization and is brimming with ideas to improve SOC processes with automations and technology.You'll be part of the Security Operations team and manage a global team of highly skilled detection engineers who also function as our in-house 24/7 SOC. You can expect to help with occasional on-call duties and will be splitting Incident Commander duties with the Senior Director. You'll also have the opportunity to closely partner with multiple teams across the business to identify and close security gaps through a mix of preventative and detective controls.What you'll work on: Commanding incident response efforts, and acting as a subject matter expert for incidents across the organization.Managing the long tail of incidents beyond containment and eradication, which includes closing preventative gaps to ensure the same incident does not happen again.Building and documenting robust processes for handling events and incidents.Modeling threats to inform detection and logging priorities.Finding opportunities to take advantage of enrichments, automations and AI to handle events and improve detection efficiencies.Developing, driving, and clearly communicating project roadmaps to the team.Designing and conducting tabletop scenarios for security incidents, business continuity and disaster recovery.Providing mentorship, support, and career development opportunities for team members.You will aspire to our four core values:Multistakeholder - you have dedication and commitment to our customers, shareholders, employees and families and local communities.Mindful - you seek to be respectful, an active listener and to pay attention to detail. You reject manipulation, dishonesty and intolerance.What you'll bring to Circle:Strong ability to lead and work collaboratively across teams during high-stress situations.An organized, project management mindset for establishing processes and driving projects to completion and building metrics to communicate accomplishments.Enthusiasm for automation, scalable and reproducible security practices.Experience working in an AWS environment desired.An understanding of standards such as ISO 27001/27002 and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework is desirable.Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and use good judgment to establish order of priorities on the fly.Experience working in financial services or financial technology desired.1+ year of experience managing medium sized teams.7+ years experience in security operations with a heavy emphasis on Incident Response.Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and Google Workspace.Circle is on a mission to create an inclusive financial future, with transparency at our core.
