What You'll Do

The Data Fabric Solutions is part of Memory Solution Lab in Samsung Semiconductors, the industry's technology and volume leader in Storage and Memory devices. The Data Fabric Solutions (DFS) group pioneers and creates comprehensive software solutions that optimize data flow efficiency, transformation, and performance for client's data-intensive applications, leveraging Samsung's world-leading SSDs, Memory, and Accelerators. As an integral part of Samsung's strong R&D focus & lab innovation engine, they cater to diverse data fabric deployments.

Specifically, the team has an opening for a seasoned Software Product Owner who has experience in managing/leading complex SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) products to design and productize innovative data fabric technology and solutions for the Cloud or Enterprise markets. He or she will join a team of experts in researching and developing innovative solutions that utilize existing and emerging technologies to add substantial value to Samsung.

The team covers a broad spectrum of topics and is building an ecosystem surrounding HBM, SSD, and Non-volatile memory Software. You will be working with state-of-the-art technologies in the context of vertical integration and optimization across H/W, S/W, and cloud applications. You will be leading the software products leveraging the latest technologies including HBM (High Bandwidth Memory), CXL (Compute Express Link), Flash/SSD, GPUs, high-speed networking, and others to research/build open-source software framework/eco-systems. In addition, you will be working closely with internal cross-functional teams, partners, and customers to drive the products to maturity.

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA location 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

What You'll Do

  • Gather feature requests and orchestrate application and SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) PRDs (Product Requirement Documents) for storage and memory software products.
  • Clearly establish AI workflow strategy and plan using solution's SW modules and devices. Own the AI workflow solution with diverse models and workload for Samsung storage and memory innovations in rack-scale and server-based solutions.
  • Identify user needs by working tightly with Product Planning and New Business Opportunity teams. Author white papers.
  • Coordinate dependencies across sprints of multiple internal teams and partners.
  • Drive agile-based bi-weekly Software Product Schedules.
  • Ensure the product meets customer expectations with clear KPIs, Quality, and Acceptance criteria.
  • Continuously develop and optimize SW product delivery plan.
  • Conduct continuous industry software research around data acceleration technologies.
  • Travel 20% as needed for Customer, Partner, and Industry collaboration.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelors with 15+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 13+ years or PhD with 10+ years of experience designing, delivering, and supporting distributed software solutions in production environments or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience designing, delivering, and supporting distributed software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions in production environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership and excellent interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, and thorough understanding of the product development cycle.
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud native applications, Data Pipelines & Data Lake.
  • Strong knowledge of storage, distributed systems, and high-performance computing fundamentals. While the focus of the position is in product solution management, the ideal candidate must remain very technical.
  • Excellent executive and customer-facing communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate, create succinct presentations and communicate with subject matter expertise and passion.
  • Good knowledge of AI Workflow (training and inferencing) involving GPUs, AI/ML Software Suites (e.g. Omniverse, Co-pilots), vector databases, KV store, and/or ETL pipeline.
  • Good understanding of Operating System, Linux IO path, and memory/CPU performance profiling.
  • Prior experience in managing a small team is a plus.
  • Prior startup experience in relevant domains is a plus.
