About the Role

Reporting to the senior tax director, this senior manager position is responsible for overseeing state income tax compliance and the quarterly state tax provision. The position is also responsible for complex state tax audits & tax appeals, state uncertain tax positions ( UTPs ), and assistance with federal tax compliance, reporting, and special projects for entities with annual revenues exceeding $3 billion.

In this opportunity as Senior Tax Manager, you will:

  • Manage and close all state income tax audits.
  • Manage state income tax compliance activities. Some Tax Return Preparation and Tax Return Review Responsibilities.
  • Develop state work papers, ensuring state modifications are accurately reflected and imported into OneSource Compliance Software.
  • Assist with quarterly current and deferred state tax provision calculations. Identify and measure state UTPs and unreserved risks on a quarterly basis.
  • Actively lead the technological transformation of all aspects of state tax compliance.
  • Assist with federal tax projects, including pro-forma tax return preparation and year-end tax provision tasks.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Senior Tax Manager if your background includes:

  • Minimum of ten years of corporate state tax and/or public accounting experience.
  • B.S., MBA, or Masters-of-Taxation.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to share resources in a relatively flat organizational structure with a consistent focus on process improvement.
