The Senior Manager Trade Compliance is responsible for the ongoing development, administration and operations of the Import and Export compliance programs for Generac's operations in the US and Canada. This role supports standardization of best practices across other countries where business is conducted.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Corporate Governance for the Generac's Import and Export programs in US and Canada.
  • Ensure company adherence to Code of Federal Regulations (19CFR and 15CFR) as may be applicable to Generac's imports and exports.
  • Create, standardize, implement, and maintain up to date, import and export SOPs.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise to organization and our business groups on all trade matters.
  • Conduct audits of all Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and 3PLs providing trade compliance services to Generac or its subsidiaries to maintain highest standards of compliance.
  • Support the full implementation of automation software around import and export areas.
  • Develop and implement Trade Compliance processes to sustain operations under Generac's Continuous Improvement journey.
  • Maintain SAP data integrity for trade compliance elements (COO, HTS, Schedule B, ECCN and similar compliance elements).
  • Support the Trade Compliance Director with the development and maintenance of KPIs and metrics for executive presentations.
  • Participate in meetings to create awareness and deliver training including sharing requirements for conducting business in global arena.
  • Maintain the business risk assessments up to date by identifying gaps in the trade compliance programs.
  • Designs and directs the work of remote team members. Selects, coaches, and develops staff. Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manages performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering progressive discipline when necessary.
  • Develops and/or recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • US Licensed Customs Broker
  • 7 years progressive trade compliance experience in the USA and CA managing imports and exports in alignment with applicable US Regulations (CBP, 15CFR, 19CFR) and Canada Regulations (CRA and CBSA).
  • 3 years progressive leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and remote employees

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system
  • Familiarity with Trade Compliance software (Thomson Reuters One-Source, E2OPEN, Amber Road) or similar trade compliance applications

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of US Customs regulations and US Export Control Regulations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment, materials, and processes.
  • Strong skills in MSOffice suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, MSTeams) and familiarity with SAP, SAP-Foreign Trade TAB.
  • Ability to analyze substantial amounts of import and export data and synthesize into meaningful KPIs and metrics.
  • Good financial, analytical and negotiation skills. Ability to identify and resolve high complexity process/system problems using financial, analytical, and/or statistical models.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this remote role is $120,400.00 - $180,500.00 This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
