We're seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer passionate about driving operational excellence by overseeing and optimizing manufacturing processes. In this Senior Manufacturing Engineer role, you'll:
- Lead projects related to aerospace component engineering and manufacturing, focusing on both new and existing parts and assemblies.
- Define and establish manufacturing methods and process sequences while working closely with manufacturing engineers, shop floor personnel, customers, and vendors.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, recommending method and tool improvements to enhance production.
- Contribute technical input for accurate cost estimates during the quoting process.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to promote efficiency, quality, and safety in the production environment.
- Interpret blueprints, symbols, and geometric tolerances per military and commercial specifications.
- Program turning, grinding, and multi-axis milling machines to precise production standards.
- Design and develop tooling and fixtures to support efficient and effective manufacturing processes.
- Create operation sheets and models for various manufacturing processes to guide production teams.
- Utilize Siemens NX software for design and programming; experience with Thirdwave Production Module or Vericut is a plus.
- Manage engineering projects using MS Project and other MS Office tools to ensure timely delivery and effective planning.
- Actively seek opportunities for process improvement and evaluate new technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Support lean initiatives, Kaizen activities, and hands-on shop floor projects to ensure continuous improvement across the facility.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, 10 years of aerospace manufacturing experience without a degree.
- Proven experience programming turning, grinding, and multi-axis milling machines.
Preferred Additional Skills / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with aerospace component manufacturing, including welding, coatings, heat treatment, machining, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX software for design and programming.
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints, customer specifications, and engineering sketches.
- Strong applied math skills (geometry and trigonometry).
- Familiarity with Thirdwave Production Module or Vericut.
- Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior engineers.

- Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds may be required.
- Safety glasses required on the shop floor.
