Pearson Senior Measurement Advisor - Boston, Massachusetts

The Senior Measurement Advisor serves as the measurement expert throughout assessment design, implementation, and improvement. This role owns customer relationships regarding measurement for a portfolio of state contracts, providing ongoing consultation and understanding the customer's viewpoint and goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the customer's implementation intent and goals to internal functional teams and represent the functional team's perspective on implementation to the customer.
  • Strategize and plan for future program improvements and solutions.
  • Stay up to speed on industry innovations and anticipate future customer needs.
  • Advise on research studies related to the future direction of the program.
  • Gather and validate requirements, setting up systems that optimize the needs of multiple customers.
  • Understand data: what needs to be captured and how it moves through Pearson systems.
  • Understand systems: how systems work together and vet configurations (Pearson's and/or vendor's).
  • Advise on assessment policy and the use of program results.
  • Understand how data will be used and what Pearson should do to support that from a design perspective.
  • Meet mandated requirements via design solutions (e.g., limited testing time, strict reporting deadlines, etc.).
  • Manage communication and planning with internal functional teams and external partners/vendors.
  • Coordinate and present at Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings.
  • Conduct reasonableness reviews of results as needed (e.g., equating).
  • Attend state board meetings as needed.
  • Serve as a resource to brainstorm solutions with fellow Senior Measurement Advisors and assigned Lead Research Scientists.
  • Remain actively engaged in the industry, contributing to ongoing conversations related to innovations and/or best practices.
  • Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in educational measurement or a related field from a nationally recognized institution of higher education.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience working in the field of measurement.
  • Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

    The minimum full-time salary range is between $155,000 - $180,000.
