Kinsa is recruiting for a: Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer - Food /Agriculture Location: USA - Naperville, IL or Joplin, MO (onsite) ; Canada - Woodbridge, ON or Winnipeg, MB (onsite) Our client is a global leader in the planning, engineering, and manufacturing of full equipment solutions and systems for agricultural commodities such as grain, seed, feed, fertilizer, and more. The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for creating 3D models and preparing detailed engineering drawings. These include dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information in relation to machinery, structures and mechanical equipment or devices. Successful candidates MUST HAVE Experience with designing food manufacturing/food processing equipment and strong experience in 3D SolidWorks design and drafting! Compensation/Benefits:
- $125,000 - $150,000 compensation range
- 15% bonus potential

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Create 3D models in SolidWorks for machinery and equipment, including mounting and piping.
- Contribute to product portfolio development and establish design standards.
- Select hardware and components, creating detailed Bills of Materials.
- Ensure safety and feasibility in installation and lifting plans.
- Design for manufacturability, collaborating with teams for in-house and vendor production.
- Develop sheet metal designs and manage burn programs using nesting software.
- Verify designs meet internal standards and review vendor approval drawings.
- Support Project Managers and estimators as needed.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- Experience with designing food manufacturing/food processing equipment
- Strong 3D SolidWorks Drafting and Design experience
- 10 Years related experience
- Drafting and design with metal fabrication, material handling equipment, structures and grain systems.
- Able to read and understand structural indication drawings as well as interpret specifications, sketches and information that affect component or system design.
- Knowledge of ASME, NFPA, and OSHA standards pertaining to Manufacturing equipment and platform design.
- Ability to lead or attend internal, client and vendor meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
