Job Description:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer position is a direct-hire position working for HGA in our office in The Woodlands, TX.Senior Mechanical Engineer Job Duties:Conceptualize initial design and give guidance to a team of Engineers and Designer / Draftsmen during preliminary design. Provide estimates of engineering manpower effort required for the jobs led and provide accurate manpower planning and tracking data during the duration of the project. Provide detail mechanical design of complex facilities and give guidance to a team of Engineers and Designers / DraftsmenPerforms various design calculations, including, but not limited to: Hydraulic Calculations (Pump Sizing, Line Sizing, etc.), Stress Analysis, Wall Thickness Calculations and Piping Specifications, Equipment SizingGenerates equipment specifications and data sheets, prepares inquiry packages, completes technical/commercial bid evaluations, generates purchase requisitions, and reviews vendor drawings. This would also include procurement for bills of material take-offs such as pipe, fittings, and valves. Senior Mechanical Engineer Education and Experience B.S. of Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 8 years of experience in fields strongly related to design engineering and equipment specifications Knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications Experience with PFDs, P add IDs and Piping Codes is strongly preferred.Experience in the Oil and Gas, Refinery, or Chemical Industry field is required. Experience with a consulting engineering firm preferred.
