Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Mechanical Engineer position that just opened in Middletown, RI. In this role you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from a submarine platform. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. US Citizenship is required. Location: Middletown, RI Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer Contract: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct/permanent Pay: $66.88/hour Telecommute: Hybrid Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer for the Tactical Hardware business area, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from a submarine platform. Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
- Design of electro-mechanical systems capable of surviving harsh environmental conditions (shock, vibration, temperature)
- Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards
- Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
- Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects with successful outcomes
- Exceptional communication skills with experience writing technical papers and proposals
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
