Stanley Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work in our Austin, TX office. In this position, you will work as a discipline lead or project engineer with mentoring opportunities to building project management skills and capabilities on a variety of projects. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in mechanical system design for diverse project types. Building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, steam, hydronic heating and cooling, and compressed air. Project types include renovations and new construction. Design tasks include general arrangements, piping and ductwork layout, and equipment selections. Work focuses primarily on these services; central heating and cooling plants, campus utility distribution systems, industrial/process facilities, power, and other infrastructure projects. The projects are large and small; local, nationwide, and possible worldwide; and for industrial, higher education, utility, federal, and municipal clients.JOB SUMMARY:The senior mechanical engineer role is responsible for determining the technical approach, validating the design criteria, directing more junior staff, and performing detailed design tasks such as calculations, specifications, and drawing preparation. This person must coordinate with others on multidiscipline design team and prepare high quality deliverables. This individual will be expected to perform design duties with minimal supervision and have ability to communicate within a team environment. This opportunity offers interaction with a variety of clients in multiple markets, with the possibility of working on international projects.Essential Duties:* Serves as technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinates technical efforts within discipline areas.* Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling of construction activities.* Attends client meetings.* Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. Desirable experience in Trane TRACE, Caesar II, and Pipe-Flo Professional/Trane Pipe Designer.* Candidate will be expected to lead and mentor less experienced engineers and designers through the design process.* Candidate should be familiar with Microsoft Office.* Experience with ProjectWise or similar enterprise content management tools is a plus.* Project experience as a task lead, project engineer, or project manager is a plus.* Energy modeling experience preferred, but not required.* Commissioning experience preferred, but not required.Job Requirements:* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from and ABET accredited College or University with 10-20 years of experience.* P.E. Licensure and willingness to get licensed in additional states is required.* Proof of US Citizenship for federal contractor compliance.* Ability to travel approximately 5-10% of the time (domestic and international).* AABC CxA certification preferred, but not required.Base Compensation: $117,900 - $158,200Stanley Consultants is committed to maintaining transparency in our hiring process, including providing information about compensation.
