Overview

We are currently in search of a Senior Meter Technician L1-2 to join our Customer Operations Revenue Protection Section within the Credit and Field Operations department. In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with performing Credit Collection activities. The role demands excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. To be considered for this position, candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to pass a written exam and technical interview. We invite applications for this position from individuals who have experience in roles such as Distribution Mechanic A (l&A), Mechanic A (l&A), Splicer (Underground), Distribution Splicer (l&A), or Line Constructor in their career history, among others. Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Utilize excellent oral and written communication skills to write clear, concise reports and effectively communicate with customers and contractors.
  • Perform tasks related to electric/gas service including, but not limited to, turn-ons, turn-offs, and replacements.
  • Regularly enter customer premises and maintain consistent contact with customers.
  • Provide support for departmental storm response, which may include working nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret electric and gas M&S plates.
  • Prioritize safety by wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Use and operate computerized equipment, such as iPhones and tablet PCs, in relation to job functions.
  • Perform credit & collection activities, including but not limited to collecting cash, check, and credit card payments. Terminate electric and/or gas service for non-payment.
  • Must be willing and able to perform electric meter/service turn-ons, turn-offs, electric meter replacements and gas meter turn-offs/removals.
  • Must be willing and able to perform electric meter turn-on and turn-offs at 120/240 and 265/477 voltages.
  • Must be willing and able to handle disconnects and reconnects which would include current transformer meters, socket meters, bottom connect (A-base) overhead/underground service.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED and Equivalent Work Experience or
  • Associate's Degree Certificate Program in Electrical Technology
Licenses And Certfications
  • Driver's License Required
  • Other: USE OF LPG IN MANHOLE OPERATIONS G -36 Required
Physical Demands
  • Perform heavy manual labor, i.e. push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
  • Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday
  • Unload materials from delivery vehicles and deliver equipment and materials to various operating facilities
  • Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
  • Use hand-eye coordination to adjust controls on equipment
  • Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
Additional Physical Demands
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
