TrinityRail(R) Maintenance Services hiring a Senior Mobile Repair Technician in Wood River, IL! What you'll do:
- Conducts railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance
- Performs repairs as necessary while always using current repair procedures
- Meets the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Ensures all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is accurate and complete
- Actively participate in safety assessments and equipment inspections
- May be required to mentor/train lower-level technicians.
- Follow all safety rules and practices
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
- Understand and complete all basic required on-board training in regard to safety and quality
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications What you'll need:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in railcar maintenance or manufacturing or proficient in two or more of the following disciplines: Air Brake Testing, Welding, Gasket Valves and Fasteners, BLTII, PTII, VTII, Qualified Coating Applicator, Qualified Coating Inspector, Qualified Abrasive Blaster or other qualifications as applicable
- Experience/Knowledgeable with the Field Manual of the AAR Interchange rules
- Ability to learn how to perform general inspections on railcars
- Ability to learn how to perform a final inspection of completed work
- Advanced skills in reading engineered drawings
- Ability to learn how to create and complete BRC
- Ability to learn all major railcar components and basic functions
- Ability to work within confined spaces and from elevated heights as required to perform work.
- Ability to perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits.
- Ability to perform work outlined without direct supervision
- Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, torches, wrenches, hydraulic jacks, pneumatic tools, and others as required.
- Ability to pass any required NDT disciplines and function specific certifications, which may include tank car welding, and demonstrates strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations
- Any type of Welding/Valve/Mechanical experience or railcar knowledge is preferred
- Valid Driver's License, good driving record
