Scope of the JobWe are looking for a Senior Mold Maker to join our Tool Room team in Tennessee! Responsible for designing, building, fine-tuning and repairing injection molds.Education and Experience:High school diploma10 years injection molding tooling experience (layout and build)Competencies and Skills:Computer literate / CAD literateQualified on all tool room equipmentExcellent mechanical aptitudeGood math skillsAble to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong commitment to quality, productivity and team performance in the workplaceGood teamwork, organization and communication skillsFull 3D mold design capabilitiesIn depth knowledge of three axis CNC programingEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Interpret customer-supplied parts, drawings, and computer filesMold layout, including materials, gates, vents, parting lines, overall size, shrinkage, heat transferUtilize any/all machine centers to achieve desired resultsFabricate high-quality injection moldsMeeting schedule commitments (on-time build)Fine-tune molds based on feedback from molding departmentRepair molds based on feedback from molding departmentConduct complicated mold maintenance as neededT/R housekeeping, keep machine centers and personal tools orderlyNotify manager or project manager of any materials or tools requiredParticipate in corrective / preventive action reviews (assist production in troubleshooting)Ability to train mold maker apprentice in fundamental tool/mold making practicesNOTE: This list presents only the principal duties of the position and is not intended to be comprehensive.
