Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Senior Molecular Biologist at Sequential in our New York City lab (101 Avenue of the Americas). The Senior Molecular Biologist will be responsible for conducting DNA/RNA extractions, library preparation and DNA/RNA sequencing, qPCR/PCR, ddPCR, and long read sequencing. The candidate will be comfortable with data analysis, and reporting. The role will also involve collaborating with the senior team on experimental design, lab SOPs and protocols.

Qualifications

• Exceptional communication and leadership skills required
• Strong background in molecular biology and microbiome research, and extensive experience in DNA/RNA sequencing and analysis
• Familiar with GLP / ISO / CAP certified labs
• Ideally, previous epigenetic experience including DNA methylation, small / non-coding RNA sequencing
• Ability to use a project management lab tool to journal and organise laboratory experiments
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Prepare study reports for grants and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals
• Experience working with R&D team in a fast paced startup environment
• 3-5 years experience in a small/mid-sized biotech company
• PhD or Master's degree in Molecular Biology
