Our actions and decisions are always driven by integrity, visibility, and the advocacy of our clients' best interests.As a Senior Software Engineer in Retirement Plan Services Technology, you will be a technical leader for your development team. You will work with your fellow team members to consistently produce high-quality output by providing guidance and support for all facets of software delivery, including design, development, testing, deployment, tooling, and support. You will serve as a strong, versatile hands-on technical lead to deliver solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment.More specifically, in this role you will:Assist with design and development of software applications that support retirement plan administrationParticipate on an agile team of developers, testers, product owners, and scrum mastersParticipate in discussions and engage with other team members to define system requirementsDesign and build automated testsRelease applications to production environments on a regular basisProvide production application support for applications that require 99% uptimeWhat you haveRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field10+ years of .NET design and development experienceDemonstrated expertise in object-oriented design, Microsoft SQL Server, SOAP and REST web services, CI/CDA strong knowledge of, and demonstrated expertise in, software design, development, testing, maintenance, and supportStrong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to build rapport with and influence team members, peers, and partnersExcellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex technical issues and solutions to peers and partnersPreferred Qualifications:Working in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban)Test Driven Development and automated test designAtlassian suite of products (Confluence, JIRA, Bamboo) and GitHubAngular JS, Spring Cloud, and microservices developmentPivotal Cloud Foundry and Public Cloud (GCP) architectureFinancial Services industry experienceWhat's in it for youAt Schwab, we're committed to empowering our employees' personal and professional success.
