Senior Network Administrator (3876) (Secret)at SMX(View all jobs) ( River, MDSMX is seeking a driven and talented Network Administrator to support network and systems engineering efforts. A successful candidate will have experience working with network infrastructure devices, protocols, and a proven ability to design, deploy, and maintain solutions supporting high-availability network infrastructures. Candidates must be highly motivated and will be required to respond to and provide resolutions to problems on a timely basis. This position involves the planning, configuring, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of a variety of network systems.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and application-level connectivity and performance problems as assigned using the ticketing systemDesign highly available systems architectures using traffic management technologyDeploy new devices per engineered plans as assignedManage NAVAIR Security Boundaries – Maintain boundary security suites at NAVAIR core sites. Suites include Cisco switches and routers, F5 Big-IP load balancersWork with NCDOC, NAVAIR IA, and PMOs to investigate network security incidentsDesign, implement, and maintain DoD PK-Enablement Solutions for NAVAIRSupport NMCI/Legacy network interoperability and cloud migration effortsManage and administer F5 BigIP and Cisco network devicesInterface closely with management team by providing necessary notifications, assisting with reports and data callsPerform monthly audit review of STIG standards and STIG updates of assigned devicesPerform weekly review of ACAS vulnerabilities and participate in the remediation planning and executionAssist with maintaining team documentation including work instructions, SOPs, processes and desk guidesWork cohesively with other teams in support of the Data CenterThis position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation and off-hours maintenance windows.Other tasks as assigned by the Team Lead and the Data Center Management teamRequired Skills:CCNA or related certification.Available to work onsite at Patuxent River NAS at least two days a weekThe selected applicant must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE equivalent, or greater), CCNA, and the ability to work independentlyAn active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.
