Job Type Full-timeDescriptionJob PurposeThe Senior Network Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing secure, high-performing network infrastructures. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable network systems that meet the needs of our organization and clients. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external clients, and sales professionals.Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable network infrastructures using Fortinet firewalls, Cisco Meraki, Cisco switches, and cloud networking solutions in Azure and AWS
- Develop and implement network solutions that align with industry best practices, organizational goals, and cloud-native architectures
- Configure and optimize advanced networking technologies, including VPNs, endpoint security systems, VLANs, and routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP, both on-premises and in cloud environments
- Continuously monitor and enhance network performance across on-premises and cloud infrastructures to ensure high availability and reliability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve complex network issues, conducting in-depth root-cause analysis, including issues in Azure and AWS virtual networks
- Enforce network security measures across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Apply firmware and software updates for Fortinet, Cisco devices, and cloud networking services to maintain system security and stability
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, cloud network setups, policies, and incident reports
- Develop and share insights on network performance, including hybrid and cloud networks, and propose risk mitigation strategies to key stakeholders
- Use, protect and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
- Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
- Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties
RequirementsQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience is acceptable
- 6-7 years of hands-on experience in LAN/WAN/Internet services administration, with a strong emphasis on Fortinet, Cisco, and cloud networking technologies in Azure and AWS
- Fortinet and Cisco certifications preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, endpoint security systems, and Cisco switches (Catalyst and Nexus)
- Proficiency in routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and other network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SMTP, HTTP)
- Familiarity with Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), AWS Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), and related cloud networking services such as load balancers, gateways, and network security groups
- Expertise in encryption and authentication standards (IPSEC, SHA1, DES, 3DES)
- Experience implementing and managing SD-WAN solutions to support hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools like PRTG, or similar systems for both on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
- Strong knowledge of advanced protocols, including RADIUS, PKI, IKE, 802.1Q, and SSL, applied to both traditional and cloud-based networks.
- In-depth familiarity with Azure Virtual Networks (VNets) and AWS Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), including configurations of load balancers, gateways, network security groups, and site-to-site VPNs.
- Excellent ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
