The Role The Senior Operations Strategy Manager is responsible for contributing to the development of all Quidel Operations and Supply Chain strategic roadmaps; working with Ops/Finance/HR personnel and leaders across the organization. The role involves a high degree of coordination among cross-functional partners (Distribution, Logistics, Engineering, IS, Finance, Planning) and is ultimately responsible for modeling out company-wide Manufacturing (equipment, facilities, resource) utilization and strategic initiative options. Additionally, the role leads targeted activities focused on delivering the negotiated strategic plan elements including specific integration, synergy, and growth projects. This position is remote in the US. The Responsibilities
- Identifies, evaluates, and executes strategic operations initiatives
- Leads strategic initiatives from opportunity identification, prioritization, diagnostic, design, pilot, implementation, and impact measurement with a variety of tools
- Analyzes large amounts of information and data quickly and effectively to reduce complexity and make actionable recommendations
- Develops strong partnerships with Leaders from various cross-functional operations teams to ensure that we can make and challenge decisions with accurate foundational data.
- Manages cross-functional project teams in developing operations capabilities (processes and tools.)
- Manages and escalates change-management risks among cross-functional partners.
- Prepares leadership and stakeholder business presentations
- Actively solicits input from key stakeholders
- Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies
The Individual
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management or related filed
- 8+ years of industry specific experience
- 3+ years of Operations Strategic/Global level Leadership experience
- Fundamental understanding of Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) methodologies.
- Should have a demonstrated ability to collaborate and negotiate with various internal (operations, engineering) and external (contractors, local officials) personnel.
- Significant large-scale transfer of capabilities project experience and manufacturing operations experience.
- Ability to contribute to the development of a strategic roadmap with a high degree of autonomy
- Excellent project management skills
- Good understanding of global supply chain processes/KPIs and financial/product flow modeling
- Excellent prioritization, organization and the ability to multitask
- Experience in QSR (Quality System Regulations) and ISO medical device standards
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster strong interpersonal relationships between groups
- Appropriate computer skills (e-mail, word processing, statistical, spreadsheet and graphing software)

Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines. The Physical Demands Walking, standing, and sitting for long periods of time (up to 75% of the day) are routine to accomplish tasks in this role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Personal protective equipment is required as posted. Travel required, up to 50% at peak months. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel. Salary Transparency Salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including: education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. Salary range for this position is $110,000 - 186,000 and is bonus eligible.
