Job Description:As a Sr. Partner Marketing Manager (Alliances), you will be responsible for the planning, program activation, communication, and enablement of consulting firms as well as global system integrators (SI's) who partner with Vertex on indirect tax technology solutions. Success for this role is measured by indirect revenue growth from our partner base, new partner growth, partner engagement, and execution of forward-thinking partner marketing tactics and strategies that influence pipeline.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Serve as the primary marketing contact between Vertex and designated partners.
- Collaborate with Alliance Managers, Indirect Sales, and Marketing to ensure that the voices of our partner personas are represented effectively in messaging development.
- Support the development of partner enablement materials to ensure consulting firms and global system integrators (SI's) understand the value our partnership and that our brand, products, and competitive advantage are delivered consistently and effectively.
- Promote partner content to engage partners through scalable vehicles.
- Generate awareness among consulting firms and global SI's regarding the use of Vertex technology to support indirect tax obligations.
- Identify and lead the execution of co-marketing and through-partner marketing demand opportunities with key consulting partners and SI's.
- Define, build, and drive lead-generating marketing efforts that grow pipeline in collaboration with partners and Vertex's Indirect Sales teams.
- Manage projects across a matrixed environment with Partner Marketing, Solutions Marketing, Demand Generation, Digital Marketing, and Indirect Sales to drive business results.
- Analyze and report on marketing performance data and deliver data-driven insights to improve partner marketing efforts.
- Champion our partners cross-functionally to ensure we deliver world-class partner experiences.
- Support department leadership and assist in other marketing-related activities as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends by regularly monitoring relevant publications.
- Travel for events and other partner efforts will be required (approximately 15% of the time).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:- Strong knowledge of:
- Cloud-based ERP's, financial systems supporting indirect tax compliance, and/or enterprise data management
- Partner models (e.g. referral, reseller, implementation, SI's, consulting firms, etc.)
- Partner marketing, enablement, and programs
- Software deployment methods (e.g. SaaS, edge computing, etc.)
- Highly motivated, self-starter with exceptional organizational skills.
- Process-oriented thinking and a knack for being detail-oriented.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams and prioritize activities.
- Partner-focused, with a strong interest in speaking with partners regularly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills with audiences of various size and make-up.
- Ability to learn and understand core product functionality, target personas, and market trends.
- Metric-oriented with the ability to define, refine and report on KPI's.
- Relentless optimism and strong work ethic.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience
- Eight (8) plus years of marketing experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Co-marketing experience with the Big 4 accounting and consulting firms
- Enterprise Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) marketing
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with:
- CRM tech stack (preferable salesforce.com)
- Live marketing activities (e.g., live webcasts, tradeshows, lunch & learns, etc.)
- Management of partner relationships
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
