Job Title: Senior Payroll/HR Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior HR/Payroll Specialist to join a growing real estate business. The Senior HR/Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing and HR administration. This role requires a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of payroll regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration:
- Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
- Review and reconcile payroll reports, ensuring all deductions and earnings are accurately recorded.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers promptly and professionally.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure all data is entered accurately into the payroll system.
HR Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-provided benefits.
- Handle employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including conducting background checks and verifying employment eligibility.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist with HR projects such as policy updates, employee engagement initiatives, and compliance audits.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and employment regulations.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and other required reports accurately and on time.
- Stay informed about changes in payroll and HR regulations and make recommendations to ensure compliance.
Systems and Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with IT or external vendors to resolve payroll system issues and implement system upgrades.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and HR administration, with a solid understanding of payroll principles and practices.
- Real Estate Industry experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in payroll software in ADP Workforce Now is required and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Union experience is required.
- M&A experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
- Experience with HRIS and timekeeping systems preferred.
