- Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
- The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate processing payroll. Inspects automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions, preparing accounting transactions and documents, and documenting and updating procedures. Prepares simple and complex finance/payroll schedules in support of other departments such as accounting and legal.

- Education
- Required: Bachelor's degree in related field or additional four (4) years of payroll experience in lieu of degree
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Licensure/Certification
- Preferred: Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) from PayrollOrg
- Experience
- Required: Five (5) years of payroll and related accounting transactions experience or nine (9) years of experience in lieu of bachelor's degree
- Preferred: Workday Payroll and UKG Dimensions experience; Healthcare related experience
- Essential Responsibilities
- 1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.2. Processes biweekly payroll and daily termination off cycle checks under the direction and supervision of Senior Manager, Payroll.3. Ad hoc auditing and reporting for internal and external entities. 4. Supports and trains payroll staff on state disability and sick time for leave of absences (LOA).5. Assists with UKG Dimensions maintenance and periodic updates.6. Monitors Retro pay balancing and processing initiated by HR though Workday for accuracy and compliance.7. Monitors biweekly payroll deduction processing and analysis regarding Hope Fund deductions & donations, Accounts receivable, Medical E365 program, Gift Shop, Employee benefits, Lincoln Financial 403(b), Employee Arrearages audits and corrections of balances due to and from employees.8. Supports effective and timely communication to employees regarding time and attendance issues.9. Assists Finance Staff Accountants regarding payroll bank account reconciliations, ACH Credits and Debit adjustments to balance cash, Journal Entries and G/L reconciliations in Workday.10. Key liaison regarding payroll processing onboarding and terminations with Director of Residency Program (Graduate Medical Education/GME).11. Serves as back up to Senior Manager, Payroll as needed with ability to perform duties required to operate the Payroll Department efficiently and productively.12. Other duties as assigned.
