Your Role as Senior Piping Designer:
As a Senior Piping Designer, you will play a critical role in the design and development of complex piping systems for major industrial projects. You will create detailed 2D and 3D piping layouts, isometrics, and construction drawings using industry-leading CAD software (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CadWorx). Collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders, you'll ensure that all designs meet or exceed industry standards, codes, and client specifications. Your expertise will be vital in driving the success of key projects in oil & gas, chemical, and power generation industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Piping Design: Develop precise piping layouts, isometric drawings, and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and CadWorx, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Documentation & Specifications: Generate material specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other necessary documentation for procurement and construction phases.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with applicable piping codes and standards, such as ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and other relevant industry regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, designers, and other project stakeholders to meet process, design, and safety requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Perform thorough quality checks on drawings to ensure they meet the highest standards and comply with industry codes.
- Client Interaction: Participate in design reviews and client meetings, effectively communicating technical concepts and updates.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in piping design to ensure the continuous improvement of design processes and project outcomes.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in piping design for industrial sectors such as oil & gas, chemical, and power generation.
- Software Expertise: Advanced proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CadWorx).
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of piping codes and standards (ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, etc.).
- Piping Stress Analysis: Familiarity with piping stress analysis principles and associated software is a plus.
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 25% for project-related work.
- Onsite Requirement: Ability to work onsite 80-90% of the time, with some flexibility for remote work.
