The Senior Planner (Current Planning) is responsible for the administration of the land development process and interpretation and enforcement of the Borough's zoning and subdivision and land development ordinances. The Senior Planner provides project management for current planning efforts, including comprehensive and area plan development and drafting of zoning and other regulatory language. The Senior Planner will provide leadership in a high-performing, cross-disciplinary team, with opportunities to significantly impact the future of State College.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in planning, urban studies, public administration or related field; supplemented by three or more years' experience in local government planning related activities; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must possess or be able to obtain American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) designation within two years of employment. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in planning, urban studies, public administration or a related field.
