We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our clients team in Columbia South Carolina; they are looking to lead a revolution in UV/LED technology. The ideal candidate will drive research on III-nitride semiconductor optoelectronics, with a specific focus on MOCVD process development for UV LEDs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science and semiconductor device fabrication, with a passion for advancing cutting-edge technologies.
This would be a full time, on-site position based in Columbia - South Carolina.
Responsibilities
- MOCVD Process Development: Develop and optimize MOCVD processes to enhance UV LED performance and yield.
- R&D Leadership: Lead research and development projects on III-nitride semiconductor structures.
- Characterization: Optimize and characterize LED structures using advanced characterization techniques.
- Data Analysis: Analyze and document research data to inform future research directions.
- Problem-Solving: Address production yield and device material issues through innovative problem-solving.
Qualities
- Education: Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. An MS with significant research experience will also be considered.
- Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- MOCVD Experience: Hands-on experience with MOCVD and other deposition processes.
- Materials Characterization: Expertise in materials characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, PL).
- Cleanroom Experience: Familiarity with cleanroom fabrication processes (e.g., lithography, etching).
- Semiconductor Knowledge: Strong understanding of semiconductor materials, technologies, and device design.
