Process Maintenance TechnicianOverview of Position: As a Senior Maintenance Technician at MMS, you'll perform mechanical, electrical, and systems troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on equipment by manufacturer's manuals, diagrams, sketches, etc. This is a mid-level position designed for those wishing to continue developing their skills and career journey in facilities maintenance. Location / Hours / Compensation: Good Field, IL, Full-Time, 1st Shift Available, Monday-Friday The successful candidate may be asked to work weekends and overtime regularly, hours will flex as business requires. Requirements Responsibilities: Under supervision performs mid-level break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to observing devices in operation to location root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools. You may also be asked to:
- Support and back up other team members as directed by leadership
- Update records in CMMS
- Assure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards
- Provide inputs in CI activities-processes, results, and cost savings
- Perform carpentry and plumbing tasks
- Setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: CNC, lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Perform welding tasks.
Desired Qualifications:To be seriously considered for this role, the successful candidate should have the following regarding:
- Experience: At least 2 years' experience in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities
- Education: High school diploma (or equivalent), Industrial Maintenance Technician or similar program is not required but would be strongly encouraged
- Skills: Successful candidates have basic to mid-level mechanical and electrical skills (including electrical maintenance, HVAC, and mechanical repair) with the aptitude to learn advanced skills. You should have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems; analyze information and to make an informed decision based on that information; identify root causes and corrective actions; adhere to all safety regulations and policies; and actively participate in job training opportunities for career development.
- Characteristics: This position is supervised; however, the successful candidate should have the ability to work independently or with a team while carrying out verbal and written instructions from supervisor.
- Other requirements: Must have a valid state driver's license, vehicle insurance and dependable vehicle. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of U.S.
Job Specific Skills:
- Proven experience as a leader of an industrial maintenance team or a similar role. 3 years or more of industrial maintenance in heat treat operations as a supervisor is a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge of heat treat, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Understand OSHA safety requirements for Industrial Maintenance Operations with a focus on heat treat operations.
- Strict adherence to safety regulations and policies.
- Understanding of budgeting and performance management.
- Excellent planning, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions: The duties of this position will be performed primarily in a factory environment.
