What We're Looking For
The Senior Procurement Manager will assume responsibility for all aspects of the procure to pay process for the assigned divisional unit, which for this position will be our Division of Student Life. In this role, you will serve as one of Procurement and Payment Services' (P2P) primary liaisons to the Baylor community, providing outreach to and engagement with faculty, staff, administration, and the supplier community. You will also be accountable for P2P processes to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiencies. The scope of this position will include sourcing, contracting, PO management, payment management, supplier data management, and system troubleshooting.
A bachelor's degree and five years of relevant work experience are required. A master's degree and seven years of relevant experience are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* General working knowledge of accepted procurement
* Knowledge of federal regulations [e.g. Uniform Guidance] and state procurement statutes and policies
* Ability to assess market/business dynamics and negotiate agreements that yield meaningful business value
* Strong analytical skills
* Demonstrated consultative/collaborative skills in performing sourcing activities
* Acts with a service mindset; establishing and maintaining trust and respect
* Ability to perform in highly matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders
* Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, motivating and managing cross functional teams
* Knowledge of automated procurement systems (e.g. Jaggaer/Oracle) is preferred
A hybrid work location will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
* Manage day to day transaction processing to ensure a timely and responsive ordering process
* Collaborate with internal academic partners and stakeholders to identify P2P priorities, and align plans, goals and measurements
* Provide support for all departmental sourcing activities under $100,000
* Serve as primary departmental liaison to faculty and staff for matters related to University procurement policies and procedures
* Perform the procurement and/or sourcing of goods and services for University departments.
* Provide guidance to stakeholders and colleagues on a wide variety of sourcing and contractual issues
* Review procurement activity with Business Officer and departmental leadership
* Act as supplier liaison for assigned departments
* Provide P2P training within assigned units; leverage training software and creative training strategies
* Work in conjunction with Finance to improve and optimize the end-to-end P2P process
* Analyze process performance based on KPIs; drive KPI improvement leveraging best practices
* Review addressable spend and determine best procurement method to drive automation and continuous process improvement
* Advance our P2P landscape by implementing tools, processes and training to drive continuous improvement and employee growth
* Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
* Ability to comply with University policies
