We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to support our Database Monitoring products, who can excel at supporting database admins quickly resolve issues, optimize performance, and monitor key health metrics, while also enabling app developers to easily identify and enhance slow queries.At Datadog our customers are implementing millions of jobs every minute, and are seeking more visibility in the pre-production pipelines. As a Senior Product designer you'll be responsible for designing Database Monitoring products focusing on enabling database admins to quickly resolve issues with their database infrastructure, proactively optimize queries and processes, and monitor key database health indicators, and app developers to identify and optimize problematic queries.You'll work within the product design team, collaborating with other designers to make the best designs and solutions for the product. - Work with product managers, engineers, and design to understand how our customers use Datadog and what they need to succeed
- See your design work through from start to finish: turn insights from user research into ideas, sketch and prototype to bring them to life, and ship products and features that make Datadog better
- Be the expert in your product area, mentoring designers on the team to do their best work
- Communicate both your design work and the support for your design decisions across the company
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand and see through how your designs will be built
Who You Are:
- You have 5+ years of experience in digital product design, with familiarity or strong interest in the platform/software delivery/observability/security industries/
- Your portfolio includes a proven track record of shipping interaction design work in web applications.
- You have strong research and analytical skills, solving users' problems and needs.
- You are an excellent visual and written communicator, able to clearly communicate your design work and the support for your design decisions
- Attentive to details, you use prototyping tools proficiently to visualize your designs throughout your process (e.g. Figma, Principle, Framer)
- You understand systems thinking and component-based design patterns
- You give and receive feedback well, supporting and improving the work of your colleagues as well as your own
