The Research Conference Outreach team manages Google Research's presence at external academic research conferences globally. The program serves as a platform for Google Research to promote our innovative and groundbreaking work, as well as foster connections within the academic community with a goal of building a healthy collaboration pipeline. We do this by funding sponsorship for priority research conferences and partnerships, as well as developing robust, on-site programming. As a Research Program Coordinator, you'll work on complex, multidisciplinary projects, and support every aspect of a program lifecycle - managing schedules, coordinating program tasks, and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Projects often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres, and this role will help to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines. How You Will Make an Impact:
- Assist program managers in the development of conference programming, which includes coordination of event logistics, scheduling, preparing documentation, tracking, and reporting
- Coordinate venue management, caterers, stand designers, collateral, contractors, and equipment hire
- Collaborate with internal and external research stakeholders and partners on program strategy, logistics, and execution
- Develop program assets, such as creation of an internal event website and drafting of internal and external communications
- Support finance and contracting processes, such as drafting SOWs and tracking expenses
What You Will Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- Strong organizational and project management skills; attention to detail
- Proficient in Google products (e.g., gmail, calendar, spreadsheets, docs)
- Ability to prioritize and multitask, and to positively contribute in a fast-paced and changing work environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiasm, team spirit, and exceptional customer service focus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in project/event management a plus
- Experience managing multiple projects/events concurrently
- Travel 10-20%
