About Houston-Galveston Area Council The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than7million people. What will I bedoing? ü Joining a team of motivated professionals at the 5th largest Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in the country ü Working directly with vehicle replacement programs including H-GAC's Clean Vehicles and Heavy Duty Diesel Replacement Programs ü Supporting existing programs through application analysis, site visits, performance accounting, and communications with partners ü Becoming an expert on the environmental and air quality benefits of a variety of mobile source vehicle technologies and how they can be used to improve the quality of life for residents within the H-GAC region ü Developing and implementing plans for impactful, efficient, and equitable deployment of clean vehicle technologies, including vehicle replacements, and fueling infrastructure, intended to meet regional, state, and national goals ü Collaborating with team members and representatives from the private sector as well as local, state, and federal agencies to support the expansion of clean transportation technologies within the H-GAC region through funding programs, grant applications and regional planning activities ü Interacting with stakeholders, including but not limited to local and state governments, fleet owners, utility representatives, automobile and equipment manufacturers, vendors, project partners, and othersKey Qualifications ü Knowledge of vehicle technologies, including traditional fuel vehicles, alternative fuel vehicles, electric vehicles, and EV charging ü Ability to plan and effectively manage complex, long-term projects from start to finish and demonstrate measurable outcomes ü Understanding of regional transportation planning methods ü Strong relationship building and communication skills ü Ability to perform tasks with limited supervision ü Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and AccessDo you have... ü Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study ü Three (3) years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, or in similar job-related duties
