Psionic, LLC. is seeking a Senior Program Manager (SPM) who works with Business Development and the Engineering teams to develop and market the world's most accurate lidar system applications for Space and Defense opportunities. The successful SPM candidate demonstrates the real world working knowledge derived from practical experiences acquired managing large and complex hardware and software development initiatives. The SPM exhibits a legacy for successfully delivering multiple large projects with diverse team sizes, cultures, timelines and technologies. The selected SPM must be capable and willing to step up and assume responsibilities beyond their normal comfort zones and effectively communicate throughout the Psionic organization. The SPM works closely with Psionic Leadership and key company stakeholders to drive critical programs and activities across Psionic's enterprise. As a vital member of our technical management team, the SPM directs the development of next generation lidar navigation and guidance systems which support critical and essential space and defense opportunities. Position Responsibilities:
  • The SPM is an integral member of the proposal development team managing the proposal development, generating the proposal response schedule, convening the Psionic proposal reviews and overseeing the development of the pricing volume.
  • Serving as the customer facing and program lead for the life cycle development for electro-optical lidar navigation sensors and systems.
  • Ability to understand the customers' systems and navigation requirements and translate client requirements into solutions using Psionic's technology.
  • Defining the program governance (ensure appropriate controls are established and enforce to promote accountability, transparency and responsiveness).
  • Planning the overall program: capture and manage requirements, create the WBS, generate budgets from funding, develop the Integrated Master Schedule, execute daily tasks, resolve conflicts, promote progress and control change.
  • Managing and controlling the program's budget via Earned Value Management techniques and metrics.
  • Participate as co-chairperson for the Configuration Control Board.
  • Managing risks, identifying opportunities, developing mitigation strategies and reporting status.
  • Managing stakeholders' communications and expectations.
  • Managing program deliverables (hardware, software, documentation, training, etc.) in accordance with contract requirements, schedule and cost.
  • Furnishing accurate and timely reporting of project status throughout the project's life cycle.
Desired Education & Experience:
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Experience with electro-optical sensor development.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 10% to 20% of the time.
  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or technical field (mathematics, physics, etc.).
  • Greater than 15 years of program management experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • MS Project, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint working knowledge.
  • Demonstrated career track record to learn new skills and adapt to new technologies.
  • Proven experience managing a diverse technical team.
  • Maintains a broad knowledge of optics and electronics (analog/digital) design engineering; experience with navigation applications / solutions is beneficial.
  • PMI PMP accreditation (Ability to obtain accreditation within one year of employment in lieu of existing accreditation).
  • Security clearance not required but ability to obtain a clearance is a plus.
