Youll work directly with executives, directors, project managers, and technical staff, to lead program execution, build customer relationships, manage resources, and control budgets on innovative multi-disciplinary programs. Your goal is to ensure program success by driving technical execution, communicating accurately, and managing positive customer relationships.Duties/Responsibilities:* Lead technical programs by guiding team meetings, identifying risks, tracking milestones, driving action resolution and managing customer & subcontractor relationships* Ensure programs meet milestones on time and within budget with an eye on exceeding customer expectations and cultivating follow-on tasks and projects* Prepare succinct, accurate, and timely information to support programmatic decisions and continued follow-on tasks* Develop periodic program briefings and communicate status to executives and customers* Communicate critical decisions and recommended courses of action to Directors* Understand and dissect contract requirements, master schedules, etc. to guide project teams and technical SMEs in achieving technical and financial goals* Monitor and own budgets, forecasts, expenditures, invoices, and financial metrics to ensure program health in coordination with project managers, Contracts and Accounting* Review and approve deliverables, invoices, and payments* Ensure programs are appropriately staffed to accomplish goals within budget and schedule* Mentor and lead project managers and project analysts to conduct required project management tasks* Develop work breakdown structures and associated cost proposals for new opportunities* Expert knowledge and experience managing different FAR and non-FAR based contracting types, to include T&M, CPFF, OTAs, IDIQs, etc.Required Education, Certification, Skills, Capabilities:* Bachelor's or Masters degree in business, management or a related field* 5+ years experience managing complex programs addressing customer requirements* 10+ years of progressive experience managing programs, teams, projects, and customers* Strong organizational, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills to work as part of a team and with customers and partners* Demonstrated experience building relationships, influencing team members, managing subcontractors, and balancing complex priorities* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Powerpoint)Preferred Skills/Experience* MBA or M.S. degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent* Familiarity with DoD contracting, budgeting, and program management* Consulting experience leading delivery teams on customer-focused projects* Experience with ERP/CRM platforms, Jira/Confluence, and MS Project* Knowledge of contract types (CPAF, CPFF, LOE, FPLOE, FFP, T&M, IDIQs, etc.)* Training in PMP, Agile and/or Scrum methodologies* Experience mentoring junior project managers or analysts* 5+ years experience managing programs in the Information and Communications Technology industryPrimary Work Location:* Work is to be performed in Arlington, VA with remote work flexibility under the Hybrid Work & Telecommuting Policy.Security:* Must be a U.S. Citizen* Must be eligible to obtain & hold a Secret clearanceVirginia Tech Applied Research Corporation: VT-ARC is a 501(c)(3), non-profit R&D organization affiliated with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech or VT).
