AMA Design Build (AMADB) is a full-service Construction Management Company established in 2004, emanating from its parent company, AMA Consulting Engineers, PC (AMAPC), a 170+ employee multi-faceted Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing Design Firm licensed in 48 states and headquartered in New York City with three regional offices in Los Angeles, CA; Madison, NJ; and Miami, FL.Role Responsibilities:As the Senior Project Accountant for AMA Design Build, you will be responsible for assisting the project team with the financial management of multiple construction projects ranging in size from $5,000 to $15,000,000 in size across multiple states. Responsibilities will be but not limited to the following:
  • Manage and oversee the financial aspects of multiple construction projects, including setting up projects in various systems, tracking project costs, and revenue recognition.
  • Maintain accurate job cost reports and analyze labor, material and subcontractor costs. Ensure costs are appropriately allocated to project.
  • Record and manage subcontractor costs, including subcontractor costs accrual when necessary.
  • Review client contract to understand the invoicing process and required back up needed for each submission.
  • Generate monthly invoices for all projects using Excel and AIA software.
  • Collaborate with project team to review and track project contracts, subcontractors, change orders, and ensure accurate reflection in financials.
  • Perform weekly bonding report reviews for all projects and issue updates to the senior management team
  • Assist with external audits
  • Prepare analysis of accounts as needed by client or management
RequirementsEducation: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related disciplineExperience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction project accountant
  • Working knowledge of Sage 100, AIA, and Deltek is required

  • Experience working on cross functional teams within different offices
  • Proven ability to work in a deadline driven environment
  • High attention to detail

In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
