Our client, a leading PE-Backed Renewables IPP is looking for an experienced Utility-Scale Renewables Development Manager to join their rapidly growing team. With a growing pipeline of just under 20GW and an operating portfolio of around 2GW of Wind, Solar, and BESS projects across the US, this is an incredible opportunity to join a high-performing and collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Lead Utility-Scale Wind, Solar, and BESS projects from site control through NTP across SPP, ERCOT, MISO, and PJM regions.
- Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate the technical, environmental, and economic viability of potential project sites.
- Manage all aspects of project development, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including landowners, regulatory agencies, utilities, contractors, and investors, to advance project development goals.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of permitting applications, environmental impact assessments, and other regulatory approvals required for project development.
- Negotiate land agreements, lease agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other contractual arrangements necessary to secure project rights and off-take agreements.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Monitor and mitigate project risks, proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges to project success.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes impacting renewable energy project development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- 5+ years of experience in Utility-Scale Wind and/or Solar project development
- Successfully led at least one Utility-Scale (50+mW) Renewables project through Notice to Proceed (NTP)
- Experience across MISO, SPP, ERCOT, and/or PJM
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working with a team
