Alvest Parts & Accessories (AP&A), a distinguished division of the Alvest Group, is actively seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Senior Project Engineer, Electromechanical (SPE_EM) to join our dynamic team. The SPE_EM will play a pivotal role in supporting AGSA (Alvest Ground Support Accessories), PAGE GSE, Sage Parts, Anderson Airmotive, and other group companies such as TLD, Aero Specialties, and Powervamp. This position involves collaborative efforts across various departments and global teams within the Alvest Group.

Responsibilities:

Project Management and Development:

  • Lead all aspects of assigned projects, integrating mechanical and electrical components to meet internal and external customer specifications.
  • Conduct independent research and feasibility studies to design innovative electromechanical solutions.
  • Coordinate the creation of designs, prototypes, and test plans, utilizing both mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
  • Perform numerical simulations and empirical analyses to validate design concepts.
  • Generate comprehensive reports based on simulation, lab experiments, and other available data.
  • Support legacy product enhancements and failure analysis as needed.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between various departments including Engineering, Sales, Sourcing, and Purchasing to ensure alignment of priorities and project objectives.
  • Collaborate with global teams within the organization to leverage expertise and resources effectively.

Customer Engagement and Technical Support:

  • Establish direct communication channels with customers, suppliers, and factories to understand requirements and provide technical guidance.
  • Support sales teams in promoting electromechanical products and addressing customer inquiries with technically sound recommendations.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
  • Effectively allocate internal and external technical resources for optimal project execution.

Technical Expertise and Compliance:

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles, including 400 Hz and 28V DC equipment, to design and develop products.
  • Ensure product certification and compliance with governmental and military standards.

Strategic Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in intercompany collaborations to optimize pricing strategies and business engagements.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the electromechanical engineering department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in engineering design, project management, or technical product management.
  • Strong practical knowledge of electromechanical concepts, principles, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks) and CAD drawing capabilities.
  • Experience with product certification processes and compliance with industry standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on ownership, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
