PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Senior Project Manager, Capital Planning & Stress Testing (CPST) at our Tysons, Virginia location. As a member of the Capital Planning and Stress Testing team, this role will primarily be responsible for supporting the delivery of PenFeds annual Capital Plan and Self-Run Stress Test through the development and execution of project management routines, project delivery process, and general project execution. This role partners closely with key partners in the lines of business and 2nd line of defense to ensure coordination, alignment, and accountability for the successful delivery of this critical, regulator-mandated enterprise deliverable.

  • Execute and manage the communication, tracking, reporting and delivery of the Capital Plan and Stress Testing submission to internal stakeholders and the NCUA.
  • Support and collaborate with cross-functional performers and leaders to deliver governance committee materials, and all project deliverables.
  • Demonstrated presentation and written communication skills.
  • Apply strong organizational skills to design agendas, support the production of presentation materials and facilitate Working Group meetings.
  • Has the ability to deal with a changing environment and to lead/facilitate and manage change efficiently and effectively where appropriate.
  • Develop and drive ambitious project enhancement objectives through sound analysis and influencing key stakeholders
  • Maintain a sound risk and control framework by compiling comprehensive documentation logs and process artifacts related to all pertinent meetings and project forums
  • Foster strong business relationships across the enterprise by providing timely assistance and guidance on CPST related inquiries.
  • Work through ambiguity to gather information required to make decisions and (re)-define priorities
  • Support Finance leadership by helping to define and manage issues and risks, define scope, and identify tasks necessary to complete assigned work.
  • Identify and implement actions to improve overall Finance and CPST project team performance and build a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Interact with the Finance Risk Management and Governance and Enterprise Initiatives teams to coordinate on matters related to regulatory communications.
Qualifications:

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or a related field is required.
  • Strong project management skills: minimum of eight (8) years proven experience managing complex projects to successful completion including the ability to navigate complex environments and work with interdisciplinary teams and effectively communicate priorities, delivery. expectations, risks, and concerns to senior management.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of project management experience within the Financial Services industry, or related domain.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and/or modify processes rather than applying what exists today.
  • Flexibility: ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements, including the ability to multi-task and juggle many competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix-style organizational structure to motivate and influence others.
  • Superb written & verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated analytical and technology proficiency in presentation and analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with banking and regulatory stress testing requirements is preferred.
  • Familiarity with generic project management applications is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise employees.

Licenses and Certifications

Certification in Project Management preferred

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
