Job Description:

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale commercial construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in managing commercial projects valued at $50 million or more, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to deliver successful and complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Project Planning and Management:
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies for high-value commercial projects.
  • Lead all phases of construction projects, from pre-construction through to project closeout, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Proactively manage project scope to ensure successful project delivery within agreed-upon parameters.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management:
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, providing strategic leadership and regular updates while addressing and resolving any concerns.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure project alignment, compliance, and successful execution.
  • Foster strong relationships with all stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Financial Oversight and Budget Management:
  • Prepare, manage, and optimize project budgets, ensuring rigorous cost control and financial efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on project financial performance, identifying and addressing any variances or potential risks.
  • Negotiate high-value contracts, change orders, and other financial agreements to safeguard project profitability.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety Management:
  • Implement and enforce stringent quality control and safety procedures, ensuring high standards of workmanship and compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to proactively identify and resolve quality or safety issues.
  • Ensure that all projects meet or exceed regulatory, company, and client standards.
  • Leadership and Team Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage project teams, including project managers, coordinators, site supervisors, and support staff.
  • Promote a collaborative, high-performance work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities to cultivate talent within the team.
  • Risk Management and Problem Solving:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing proactive strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets.
  • Make informed decisions to resolve conflicts and overcome challenges, leveraging experience and industry best practices.
  • Drive innovative solutions that enhance project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 4 years in a senior role overseeing commercial projects valued at $50 million or more.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction processes, methods, and technologies specific to large-scale commercial projects.
  • Proven track record of leadership and team management in complex, high-value construction environments.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Primavera).
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management and cost control.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal construction codes and regulations.
