The ideal candidate will not only coach and guide teams but may also be hands-on in driving project success.

Contributions:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will ensure that the project teams maintain a strong focus on quality and continuous delivery while providing clear visibility into project targets, commitments, and progress.

  • Ensures team(s) maintain focus on quality and continuous delivery
  • Provides visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progress
  • Creates roadmaps and milestone charts for the project
  • Be well managed understand and coach the team on delivery controls, compliance to minimize operational and reputational risk
  • Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using a network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required)
  • Integrates Agile and Lean principles into team practices and work product
  • Coaches Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization
  • Coaches the team to improve collaboration and self-organization
  • Utilizes team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and works with the team to continuously improve
  • Assesses the current organization and delivery environment and recommends optimal Agile practices tailored to the client
  • Innovates with practices and frameworks through experimentation to improve the team and their delivery
  • Develops understanding and encouragement of teams innovation and improvement
  • Prepares and delivers effective communications both verbally and in writing regarding progress and status for both internal and client teams
  • Performs hands-on project work, including analysis, design, and change management, as needed by the project
  • Understands domain architecture and targets to identify upstream and downstream dependencies and to support the team in risk management.
Qualifications:

Required

  • Master's degree in a related program and 8 years of experience; OR
    • Bachelors degree in a related program and 10 years of relevant experience; OR
    • No degree and 16 years of relevant experience
  • 12+ years managing IT projects using Agile methodologies and approaches; proven background in consulting and project management
  • Possesses at least one professional certification relevant to the technical service provided.

Preferred

  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
  • Ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions
  • Flexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and consult while providing thought leadership to sponsors/stakeholders in solving governance, program/project management, business process and/or technical problems
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
