Project success is measured on quality of outputs meeting scope of work, schedule and budget and the ultimate successful launch of a new product.***PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A 12-MONTH CONTRACT ROLE***Responsibilities include:Applies extensive technical expertise & has full knowledge of related disciplines. Develops technical and business process solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. In partnership with the platform and core team members, leads the development and commercialization, go to market and launch strategy of the project.Responsible for the creation of the project work breakdown structures, integrated business plan and product requirements. Leads the cross-functional development of the product architecture for each functional area, synthesizes functional plans and identifies critical interdependencies to drive successful execution of the project.Designs and performs development of a complex nature, working with functional and multifunctional teams within defined parameters. Modifies methodologies and procedures as applicable to the project for quicker, valid results.Ensures quality conduct of projects, including design, data summary and interpretation, report and manuscript preparation and review adherence to applicable regulations.Represents the organization as the prime contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.Guides the successful completion of projects by effectively organizing, coaching and motivating a highly skilled cross-functional team.May perform other duties as required.Skills:Strong organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage multiple levels of associates.Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills.Commercial Excellence - ability to effectively apply business, financial and commercial knowledge to successfully deliver the product development outcomes.Optimized Execution and Performance - advances long-term growth while consistently meeting or exceeding near-term business performance expectations.Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and influencing skills.Ability to manage ambiguity.Ability to act as a change protagonist.Critical thinking.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in science or engineering.A minimum of 10 years' experience with the development of medical devices.At least 3-5 years project management experience.Strong experience and knowledge of product development and ability to lead product development initiatives.Working knowledge of international standards applicable to medical devices, including ISO13485, ISO14971, and IEC60601.Experience developing hardware products in a regulated environment following a Phase Gated Product Development process.Expertise in generating customer requirements and writing product requirements and specifications.Experience contracting with, and managing, third party hardware consultants within and outside the U.S is considered a positive.Experience in project execution and administration.Ability to work with other functions and facilitate activities from a systems integration perspective.Preferred:PMP certification is a plus.Masters or PhD is preferred.For certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company's receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
