Job Description:

Overview

The Senior Project Manager will be assigned to specific operational and/or capital projects associated with water treatment, water quality, water supply, water reuse, wastewater treatment, and other department projects. The responsibilities include Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and in-house projects to ensure they meet requirements, working with city departments to evaluate work objectives, timelines, planning and scheduling, and project efficiency. This position will interact with CCW mangers to coordinate the review of drawings, designs, process reports, and final acceptance of projects.

Responsibilities

* Maintains CCW project portfolio for all CIP and in-house projects to ensure proper planning and execution of projects, as well as to maintain fiscal responsibility for projects

* Works with CCW staff and staff in city departments regularly to review project timelines, budget, areas of concern, etc. to resolve matters and proceed with project completion timely

* Works with external entities, including consulting engineers and third party contractors, assigned to CCW CIP and in-house projects by reviewing timelines and work plans to ensure projects are completed timely and adhere to the budgeted cost

* Works with CCW staff to identify operational needs and initiatives and executes projects to meet department goals

* Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

* Two (2) positions available

* Exempt - Full-Time

* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

* In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree

* Five (5) years of experience

Licenses and Certifications

Required

* A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

* Project Management Certification (PMP) or comparable certification preferred

Basis of Rating

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
