The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is currently seeking applicants for the Senior Project Manager role. The Senior Project Manager role independently oversees multiple, complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet all scope, timeline and budget requirements. This role focuses on project alignment to Virginia ABC strategic and/or tactical goals, identification of clear, measurable success criteria and on meeting customer expectations.

Areas of Responsibility

* Clearly identify and articulate project objectives and goals and ensure they are achieved

* Develop comprehensive project plans and manage project portfolios that encompass scope, timelines, dependencies, budgets, resources and milestones

* Conduct effective project stakeholder analysis to ensure that the right individuals and groups are engaged in the appropriate activities for the duration of the project

* Ensure all activities align with the project strategy and project goals and coordinate efforts across various teams to maintain progress and quality

* Create and maintain detailed documentation of tasks, processes and decisions to track progress and maintain accountability

* Lead and coordinate pre-project impact analysis activities

* Partner with other IT resources to validate and ensure that technical feasibility, quality assurance and maintainability goals of the project are met

* Swiftly identify risks and develop effective mitigation strategies

* Request and allocate resources based on project requirements and availability

* Track and seek to obtain resolution to issues that jeopardize attainment of project goals

* Simultaneously manage multiple high priority, complex projects

* Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

* Manage coordination between various teams and stakeholders, swiftly resolving any conflicts or issues to maintain smooth project execution

* Establishes clear and appropriate communication channels to ensure that all stakeholders (business, IT, and/or third party vendor) are informed and engaged

Minimum Qualifications

* 7+ years project management experience

* 3+ years experience successfully managing or leading a technical project that involves either software development, IT infrastructure implementations or modifications, or the implementation of COTS/SaaS products.

* 3+ years experience managing business projects
