Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager to lead and manage ground-up commercial construction projects in Los Angeles, CA. This role requires a proven ability to oversee all aspects of construction, from preconstruction through project closeout. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with a successful track record in delivering large-scale ground-up commercial projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of ground-up commercial construction projects.
- Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Planning and Scheduling:- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to align resources and meet project milestones.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to avoid delays and cost overruns.
Budget and Cost Management:- Establish and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial goals.
- Review and approve project costs, forecasts, and change orders.
- Conduct regular cost analysis to identify savings opportunities and maintain budget integrity.
Team Management:- Lead and mentor project teams, including assistant project managers, project engineers, and field staff.
- Foster a collaborative and solutions-oriented team environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional growth within the team.
Quality Control and Safety:- Ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety practices.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular project updates and address client concerns promptly and professionally.
- Lead project meetings and presentations to stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years managing ground-up projects.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale commercial projects, including office buildings, retail centers, and mixed-use developments.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- In-depth understanding of local building codes, permitting processes, and construction market dynamics.
