Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage construction projects in the life science, healthcare, or commercial sectors throughout the Bay Area. This role requires a strong background in managing complex, technical projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project execution, from preconstruction to closeout, while fostering strong client relationships and leading high-performing project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of life science, healthcare, or commercial construction projects.
- Manage the project lifecycle, including preconstruction planning, scheduling, and delivery.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Planning and Execution:- Develop detailed project plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with client goals and timelines.
- Coordinate with design and construction teams to address challenges and ensure seamless execution.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Budget and Financial Oversight:- Establish and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial goals.
- Review and approve cost estimates, change orders, and financial forecasts.
- Analyze project costs and identify opportunities for savings and efficiency.
Team Management:- Lead and mentor project teams, including project engineers, assistant project managers, and field staff.
- Promote a collaborative and solutions-oriented work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support the professional development of team members.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular project updates, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Lead project meetings, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
Quality Control and Safety:- Ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct site visits to monitor quality, safety, and overall progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on life science, healthcare, or commercial projects.
- Proven track record of delivering complex, technical projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Bay Area building codes, permitting processes, and construction market dynamics.
