This permanent role offers a unique opportunity to manage and oversee the financial aspects of our diverse portfolio of commercial properties, including shopping centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in property accounting, general ledger (GL), and CAM reconciliations. With 5+ years of experience, you will be a part of a vibrant team, contributing to the financial health and success of our commercial properties.Responsibilities:As a Senior Property Accountant, you will be expected to:1. Oversee all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties.2. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.3. Conduct CAM reconciliations and ensure accurate allocation of property-related expenses.4. Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.5. Work closely with property managers to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.6. Perform variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for any discrepancies.7. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and filings.8. Provide support during internal and external audits.9. Continually review and improve accounting processes and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness.10. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration and understanding of financial data.Qualifications:The ideal candidate for the Senior Property Accountant role should possess:1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or MBA would be a plus.2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in commercial real estate.3. Proven experience with CAM reconciliations and commercial property accounting.4. Proficiency in using property management software and accounting systems.5. Excellent knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.6. Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.8. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently under tight deadlines.9. Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.10.
