Responsibilities

• Generate purchase orders to suppliers for assigned projects in a timely fashion and work with suppliers to confirm delivery dates to ensure on-time delivery to our customers.
• Manage trucking and 3PL vendors to ensure accurate as well as timely delivery of finished goods.
• Enter as well as maintain relevant data in the MRP/ERP system per documented purchasing procedures.
• Monitor and provide clear communications to suppliers as to the business requirements and expectations for delivery, quality, customer support, and continuous improvement.
• Work with logistics on shipping arrangements and to ensure orders are closed within the target time frame.
• Resolve 3-way match issues between purchase orders, receipts, and supplier invoices.
• Experience and understanding of contracting and purchasing strategies.
• Excellent understanding of procurement processes which include both materials and contracts management and corporate governance principles.
• Encourage and promote innovation in obtaining procurement objectives.
• Excellent organizational, technical writing and verbal communication skills required.
• Responsible for developing and completing the Project Execution Plan indicating the criticality level of each planned procurement requirement.
• Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required delivery dates.
• Willingness to drive project efficiency and know when to elevate and encourage Team for success.
• Understands Incoterms and associated risk and help mitigate as necessary.

Requirements:

• BS in related field or equivalent combinations of commercial training and/or related experience may be substituted for degree
• Five (5) Years of purchasing or expediting experience in a actuator, valve, machinery, or related environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system
• Experience dealing directly with customers.
• Track record of success expediting purchase orders in times of heavy workload.
