Job Description Plans and carries out a program of development regarding computing and mathematical modeling pertinent to the department. Assists in maintaining proper calibration of equipment. Provides guidance and direction to Physicists. Job Responsibility
- Verifies computer calculations for radiotherapy through the design of radiation and other measurements.
- Analyzes and documents radiation measurements.
- Plans, directs and evaluates the implementation of radiation therapy techniques in consultation with physicians.
- Participates in the research and development of new therapy modalities.
- Responsible for the implementation of the Quality Assurance program and ensures compliance with regulations of all governing agencies.
- Monitors the maintenance and calibration program for equipment in radiotherapy department and the satellite facility.
- Calibrates radioactive sources and linear accelerators according to established protocols.
- Provides technical guidance and direction to staff.

- Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Current License to practice as a Therapeutic Radiation Physicist in New York State, and Current Therapeutic Radiation Physicist Certification in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
