For more information see, the Licensing Process for Operators documentation on the NRC website.The licensed Senior Reactor Operator manipulates the controls of a nuclear reactor and directs others to manipulate controls. As the Senior Reactor Operator you are the senior watch stander in a control room and are responsible for directing the operation of the nuclear reactor as desired. Base salary depending on experience, plus premium pay of additional $16K once they enter ILT class that becomes $24K once licensed. Retention and requalification bonuses - $10K bonus broken up through training when hit milestones of class completion.
